Queens native Dina Tsolekas Livesay is running the 2021 New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7 and has enthusiastically joined Team Greek America to raise funds for our charitable endeavors.
Dina launched her fundraiser for her 53rd birthday on October 8 and has set a goal of $1,000. Her fundraiser will continue through November 8.
Funds raised will benefit our #ChildrenOfGreece campaign which supports our six charity partners in Greece. Each of our partners are doing critical work to help the country’s most vulnerable members of society — disenfranchised children.
As of April 2021, we have disbursed $40,000 in grants to the aforementioned charities.
Team Greek America is the Greek America Foundation’s virtual team of athletes who compete for a cause bigger than themselves by creating their own or participating in organized races while raising funds for our cause.
The TCS New York City Marathon is the largest marathon in the world and the signature event of New York Road Runners (NYRR), the world’s premier community running organization.
This year’s race includes 33,000 runners, from the world’s top professional athletes to runners of all ages and abilities, including charity runners. Participants tour New York City’s five boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan.
More than one million spectators and 10,000 volunteers line the city’s streets in support of the runners, while millions more watch the globally televised broadcast.
