Where our story began
The neighborhoods
they built.
A shop opened. A café filled with conversation. A familiar language could be heard on a new street. Across the United States and Canada, the places our families settled became communities—built through work, friendship and the everyday act of making room for one another.

What they passed down
A way of
belonging.
Home lived in the people around us: the family beside us, the neighbor who knew our name, the traditions we learned by taking part. What one generation carried with them became something the next could call its own.

A community, together
Our story
in the streets.
On parade days, that belonging stepped into the open. Flags, music and traditional dress brought generations together, making our communities visible in the cities we called home. We gathered to remember—and to share who we were.

The joy we shared
There was always
room to gather.
Around a table or on a dance floor, strangers became friends and friends became family. These were the moments that held a community together: a meal, a song, a celebration made richer because it was shared.

The legacy continues
Coming home.
Carrying it forward.
The story continues through the people who serve, create, lead and make a difference today. On November 20, Our Greektown brings us together to honor those who built our communities and celebrate those carrying their legacy forward. We remember where we began—and gather for what comes next.
