About the 300 Spartans
The 300 Spartans is a sustaining membership circle of the Greek America Foundation, created for people who want to help provide dependable annual support for the organization’s programs, operations, and future growth.
Why 300 Spartans?
In 480 BC, at the narrow pass of Thermopylae, 300 Spartans stood against an invading Persian army of hundreds of thousands. They fought to defend the ideals of freedom, democracy, and self-determination that would one day shape Western civilization. Their courage became a symbol of how a small group, united by purpose, can alter the course of history.
Today, we call upon a new army of 300. Not to raise swords, but to raise support. The 300 Spartans are people who respect, appreciate, and care about the work of the Greek America Foundation and make a minimum annual commitment of $1,000 to sustain our future.
$1,000 a year.
That’s $88 a month.
$2.60 per day.
This fund is critical to the Greek America Foundation’s operations and ensures that we can continue our transformative work.
Why Your Giving Matters
True philanthropy isn’t about what we receive; it’s about what we leave behind.
At the Greek America Foundation, our mission has always been to transform lives through charity, education, and culture. From providing critical aid to animal shelters and children’s homes in Greece to giving young Greek Americans a profound connection to their roots through volunteerism, our work is hands-on, immediate, and vital.
But impactful work requires a stable foundation.
The 300 Spartans initiative was created for those who see the big picture. This circle of sustaining members provides the consistent, predictable resources necessary to keep our operations strong and our programs running year-round. It is the fuel behind our volunteer missions, our cultural preservation, and our crisis relief efforts.
We look to the ancient 300 not for their armor, but for their commitment to a cause greater than themselves. By committing $1,000 a year, you become the spine of the Greek America Foundation. You ensure that when Greece needs us, or when a young person seeks their heritage, GAF is there—steadfast, capable, and ready to act.
