The Greek America Foundation is proud to welcome Caroline Burgos as our new Director of Fundraising & Development.
Caroline brings extensive experience in advancement, alumni engagement, and philanthropic strategy from her roles at Fordham University and Alfred University. She joins the Foundation at a pivotal moment as we strengthen our fundraising efforts and expand opportunities for our volunteer and donor communities.
Caroline is no stranger to our mission. She participated in our Greek America Corps volunteer program in Chios in both 2024 and 2025—an experience that profoundly shaped her academic and professional path.
“The Greek America Foundation has earned a special place in my heart,” Caroline says. “I think about it almost every single day.”

Caroline’s bond with Greece began more than a decade ago during a high school trip that sparked a lifelong connection. Since then, she has returned nearly every year, even living on the island of Kefalonia, where the country’s culture and community became deeply meaningful to her.
“Greek culture is so important to me,” she says. “It feels more like home in some ways than my own Italian and Spanish roots.”
Caroline’s time participating in Greek America Corps inspired her to pursue graduate research on the intersection of language learning, technology, and refugee support, which became the focus of her master’s thesis.
“This program has become very, very important to me,” she says. “My whole graduate thesis came from my time on Chios.”
In her new role, Caroline will lead our fundraising and development strategy, engage with donors and partners, and help strengthen the long-term sustainability of programs—especially Greek America Corps, which remains at the core of our mission.
Greek America Foundation Founder and President Gregory Pappas said: “Caroline understands our mission not just professionally, but personally. Having experienced our programs herself, she brings a full-circle perspective that will strengthen our work and inspire others to support it.”
Greek America Corps Greece Program Director Eleni Anagnostopoulos, who worked closely with Caroline during both of her volunteer summers in Chios, said: ‘I’ve seen firsthand how deeply Caroline cares for our volunteers and the communities we serve. I’m excited to welcome her into this new role.’”
Caroline’s enthusiasm, strategic mindset, and deep personal commitment to humanitarian and cultural work bring a powerful new dimension to our team. We are thrilled to welcome her in this leadership capacity—which she’s generously fulfilling on a volunteer basis—and look forward to the impact she will help create.
