Perhaps you experienced an explosion of pride for your cultural heritage that we helped instill during one of our dozens of events that we’ve hosted.
Perhaps you were given a unique opportunity to meet and connect with other like-minded people and share a special moment.
Perhaps you were the recipient of an award, a scholarship or an opportunity that left an impression on you?
One way or another, tens of thousands of people have been touched by the work of the Greek America Foundation through our community-building efforts, our philanthropy and charity work, our academic programs and our events.
Now, we need your help to stay afloat during this global crisis.
We still have two full-time employees to pay. Darden and Eleni have been working safely from their homes ever since our building was closed. We still have rent to pay, even though our building has been officially closed.
We still have programs to plan. We still have work to do.
When this is all over, we will still need a connection to our cultural heritage that we provide with our programs. Greece will re-open and scholarships for semester abroad will resume. Our volunteers will fill airplanes when it’s safe and travel to serve vulnerable communities.
We had to postpone our signature fundraiser— The Gabby Awards weekend— to a later date when it will be safe for all of us to come together… and celebrate. But until then, the lights must stay on. The rent must be paid. And our staff has to keep working.
We’ve launched a sustainability campaign to raise some money to help keep the Greek America Foundation running.
We’re passing a basket to anyone who knows and loves the work we do… So that we, too, can survive this pandemic and come out on the other side, ready to serve.
We don’t need much from you… $10… $25… If you want to pitch in more, that’s fine too. But whatever the amount, know that you were a part of keeping the Greek America Foundation going during a very challenging time.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
