Five high school seniors from the Greek America Foundation’s Gen G program have been invited to take part in the 2026 Concordia Annual Summit in New York City—an extraordinary opportunity to experience global leadership in action before they even begin college.
Made possible by Libra Philanthropies through its Rising Global Leaders program, the invitation offers the students a full day of Summit programming on Monday, September 21, during United Nations General Assembly week.
The Concordia Annual Summit brings together leaders from government, business, philanthropy, and the nonprofit world to examine pressing global challenges and explore how working together can produce meaningful change. For our Gen G seniors, it is a chance to step into conversations that reach far beyond the classroom and hear firsthand from people whose work shapes communities and countries.
At a moment when these young people are considering college, careers, and the kind of contribution they want to make, that exposure can be transformative. A single conversation, a new perspective, or an idea encountered during the day could open a path they had never considered. It is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that can expand a young person’s sense of what is possible—and where they belong in the world.
For Gen G, the invitation builds on lessons already taking shape through service. Earlier this year, members gathered at Xavier Mission in Manhattan to sort donations, prepare meals, and serve guests. Before arriving, they had organized a fundraising response to help meet an urgent need for new underwear. They listened, identified a need, and worked together to help.
Concordia offers another setting in which to explore those same questions: What does a community need? Who can help? How do people turn concern into action? The scale is different, but the responsibility to listen, learn, and contribute is familiar.

Gen G is the Greek America Foundation’s leadership, philanthropy, and service program for teenagers, rooted in philotimo and the belief that young people can make a difference now. Through mentorship, hands-on volunteering, and a youth-led giving fund, members learn to raise and steward resources, evaluate nonprofit needs, and make decisions together about the causes they support.
