In 2026, the Greek America Corps Summer Volunteer Program celebrated an important milestone: ten years of service, volunteerism, friendship, and impact throughout Greece.
Over the past decade, hundreds of volunteers from across the United States and Canada have traveled to Greece to serve alongside local nonprofit organizations, support vulnerable communities, and build meaningful connections rooted in the values of philanthropy, service, and community.
To mark this special anniversary, the Foundation invited members of our Greek America Foundation family to join us on the island of Chios for a weekend of celebration, reflection, and connection.
The invitation extended to past volunteers, donors, supporters, participants, friends of the Foundation and others whose lives had been touched by our work.
Community Day activities were scheduled for Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, 2026, bringing together current volunteers, alumni, local partners, supporters, and friends from around the world.
The weekend was designed to feature opportunities to connect with fellow members of our community, meet the organizations and partners who had worked alongside us throughout the years, participate in service-oriented activities, and celebrate the collective impact made together.
Families were welcome, with special opportunities planned for younger participants and teens to engage in meaningful service and community-building experiences.
Guests were encouraged to arrive on Thursday, July 30, as festivities and informal gatherings began that evening.
