On Sunday, December 22 at between 1pm and 6pm, traditional kalanda singers will be roaming the streets of Astoria, spreading Greek holiday cheer and collecting donations for the Greek America Foundation’s #ChildrenOfGreece fundraising campaign.
Singers and musicians are donating their time and talents to this cause, which not only will spread Greek traditional holiday cheer throughout Astoria, but also raise funds for underprivileged children in Greece.
We are currently creating a schedule of businesses that would like to have our singers and musicians stop by and sing and reserve a few minutes on the schedule — and also support our effort with a minimum $250 donation.
If you would like to make your donation in advance via credit card, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
The group will come by and sing traditional Greek kalanda and share in the holiday cheer.
Can we count you in to support this endeavor to maintain Greek traditions in Astoria and also raise money for children’s charities in Greece?
Please call Jimmy Panagiotou at +1(917) 582-6360 to schedule your visit. We will be accepting check donations payable to Greek America Foundation on the spot, with all proceeds benefitting children’s charities in Greece.
