Chania isn’t just a place on the map for me — it’s the beginning of my family’s story. It’s where my roots are buried deep in the soil, and where countless summers shaped my identity long before I even understood the weight of heritage. I care about this town — its people, its children, its future — in a way that’s hard to put into words.
That’s why, through the Greek America Foundation, I launched an ongoing effort to give back to this community in meaningful, lasting ways.
We started by creating a volunteer program that, for the past two summers, has brought young people from North America to Chania to support local nonprofits — working on environmental projects, cultural preservation, and social-impact initiatives that directly strengthen the fabric of the community.

And each year, we take things a step further.
One of our most important commitments is an annual grant to the Chania Elementary School — supporting essential classroom needs like technology, supplies, and enhancements that elevate the everyday learning experience for local children. No salaries, no fluff — just practical resources that teachers and students truly need. We inaugurated this annual support in 2024, and you can read more about that grant here.
As we close out 2025, I want to build something even more personal — a structured way for others who love Chania as deeply as I do to stand with us. I’ve launched the Founder’s Circle of Support for Chania: a dedicated group of donors who believe in investing in Chania’s next generation.
It’s simple: I’m hoping to enlist 100 people who will make a minimum gift of $100 annually, with an annual goal of raising $10,000 to ensure students have the resources they need while also supporting programs that benefit the greater community.
If Chania has touched your life…
If you’ve walked its harbor, felt its history, or carry it in your heart the way I do…
I invite you to join this Circle.
And if you have other family or friends who might want to join, please share.
Unless you request anonymity, names of supporters will be listed on our website once the Circle of Support is established.
The Greek America Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All U.S. donations are fully tax-deductible — but more importantly, they’re deeply impactful.
Help us invest in the children who will define its future.
