For the first time ever in our community, the Greek America Foundation will be hosting a parallel black tie gala especially for teens during the 2025 Gabby Awards weekend in New York City. Taking place in its own dedicated ballroom at The Plaza Hotel, this inaugural event represents more than just a celebration—it’s a bold statement about the future.
As we gather to honor excellence and impact at our flagship fundraiser, we are equally proud to provide an opportunity for the next generation to experience their own moment of glamour, connection, and purpose.
But this isn’t just a party planned for teens—it’s a movement being led by them.
Over the past several months, a dedicated national committee of high school students has been meeting regularly via Zoom to envision and organize their own black tie event. From choosing the theme and designing the invitation, to selecting the music and discussing dress code, these young leaders are taking full ownership of their evening. They are crafting an experience that reflects who they are, and who they aspire to become.
At the Greek America Foundation, we believe in empowering our youth not just to attend events—but to lead them. This Teen Gala is the embodiment of that belief. It’s where confidence meets culture, where independence meets initiative, and where the seeds of leadership are being planted in real time.
We are immensely proud of our teen committee and all the young people who will gather in their own ballroom on June 7, 2025, dressed to the nines, standing tall, and forging friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
This is more than a gala—it’s a first step. A glimpse of the future we are building together.
“Once again, the Greek America Foundation is doing something no one else in our community has done before—and we’re doing it for the right reasons. This Teen Gala isn’t just a party; it’s a statement. We’re giving young people the chance to lead, to serve, and to shine. And in doing so, we’re investing in the very best kind of future—one they’re already helping to shape. If we want our young people to grow into changemakers, we have to let them lead—now. This Teen Gala is about showing them that they already belong in the room, and that their voice, their choices, and their values matter.”
