The Greek America Foundation is honored to welcome America’s favorite comedian Angelo Tsarouchas as our official evening host for the 2022 Gabby Awards on Friday, June 3 in New York City.
Tsarouchas is a Canadian comedian, actor, and writer living in Los Angeles. He is known for incorporating Greek culture into his stand-up comedy routines, and has been called the “King of Greek Ethnic Comedy.”
During our star-studded dinner program at The Plaza Hotel, Tsarouchas will kick off the evening with enthusiasm while incorporating comedic stories that are guaranteed to evoke memories of “Greek Summer” — the theme of this year’s Gabby Awards.
As well as being a world-class mainstream comedian and actor, Angelo also has a tailormade show based on the upbringing of his Greek origins in the diaspora.
He has performed in various capacities including at church fundraisers, AHEPA and Greek community special events among many other Greek organizations worldwide.
Angelo has also been the host of the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, has performed at the Greek Orthodox Folk Dance & Choral Festival (FDF) annual event which hosts thousands of people and was the Master of Ceremonies at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City for the 2017 Gabby Awards alongside celebrities such as the late Olympia Dukakis, Glykeria, and Anna Vissi.
Angelo has also had the pleasure of working with famous Greek singers such as Antonis Remos, Giannis Ploutarhos, Sakis Rouvas, and Marinella. His keen observations of Greek life in the westernized world have kept him in constant demand.
One of Tsarouchas’ most popular comedy bits, “Renting a car in Greece” has surpassed more than 1.3 million views on YouTube.
