The Greek America Foundation is proud to launch the Carry the Future of Greek America Artist Tote Series, a collaboration that celebrates creativity, philanthropy, and community.
In this unique and exciting series, we’ll feature a different artist from the Greek world who will share an exclusive design on the front of a limited-edition tote bag—crafted in natural brushed cotton canvas in New York City. Only 50 bags will be produced for each edition and offered as a thank-you gift for donations of $125 or more to the Greek America Foundation.
And with the holidays approaching, how about a tote bag for that special friend, as well?
For almost two decades, the Greek America Foundation has connected people through service, learning, and culture—mobilizing volunteers in Greece, awarding scholarships and fellowships, and supporting humanitarian and community projects. This new series helps carry that legacy forward, blending art and philanthropy into something both beautiful and meaningful.
Each tote tells a story. Each artist brings their voice to the shared mission of carrying the future of Greek America. Deadline for participation in the Tote Bag #1 Release is November 15, 2025!
The First Edition Carry the Future of Greek America Tote Bag: Angel Cook by Efrossini Chaniotis

The debut design features Angel Cook by Efrossini Chaniotis, a Greek-Australian artist whose work merges mythology, storytelling, and vivid visual expression. Based in Melbourne, Efrossini studied sculpture and performance art in Adelaide, painting in Athens and Madrid, earning two Fine Art degrees and later a Master’s in Art Therapy. Her studio—affectionately called Little Mykonos—is a kaleidoscope of color and creativity, where she paints, sculpts, and explores how art heals, connects, and transforms.
Efrossini’s art draws deeply on love, memory, and myth. Her Modern Icon series—begun after she left Greece as a young woman—serves as a visual homecoming, bridging time and geography through familiar faces and stories. What started as portraits of her grandmother and Athenian neighbors evolved into a contemporary expression of heritage and belonging.
Her murals can be found on city walls across Australia and South America, and her portrait of revolutionary heroine Laskarina Bouboulina was the first officially recognized depiction by a woman artist—featured on the cover of the first English-language academic book on Bouboulina.
In Angel Cook, the past and present mingle: a woman stands in her kitchen holding a tray of kourabiedes, surrounded by symbols that intertwine Greece and Australia—stars drifting through open curtains, wattle flowers blooming in a vase, souvenirs resting on the shelf. Based on Efrossini’s first Modern Icon painted in 2001, the work invites us into a dreamscape where loved ones meet beyond time and space.
“Although I’m based in Australia, I feel part of the Greek America Foundation family as it seems to be a foundation full of heart,” Efrossini says. “I’m excited for Philhellenes and members of the Greek diaspora beyond my home to enjoy and learn about my art.”
