Mina Stone is the author of “Cooking for Artists” and “Lemon Love and Olive Oil” and a career chef. For years she cooked delicious lunches at Urs Fischer’s Brooklyn-based art studio as well as gallery dinners for New York’s art world. In 2019 she opened her own restaurant, Mina’s, housed within MoMA’s PS1 in Long Island City, Queens.
“Lemon, Love and Olive Oil” weaves together more than 80 Mediterranean-style recipes, inspired by Stone’s traditional Greek heritage and her restaurant at MoMa’s PS1, with the stories that inspired them. She learned to cook from her yiayia (grandmother), who taught her that food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious — and that almost any dish can be improved with judicious amounts of lemon, olive oil and salt.
In this deeply personal cookbook, Stone celebrates her grandmother and the other influences that have shaped her life, her career and her culinary tastes and expertise.
In addition to hearing directly from Stone about her newest book, guests will have the opportunity to network and mingle with friends and newcomers alike.
Admission is FREE. Thursday, November 4 from 5:00-8:00pm at WKND Nation on 99 Spring St, New York, NY 10012.
